My '64 XM falcon
Hey all, thought you may be interested to see some pics of my XM Falcon. I'm building it as a 60's inspired mild custom. Car is airbagged, with air ride shockwaves at all corners, and a tri-4 link in the rear. Interior will be mid 60's style, driveline is stock, fully rebuilt. Will try and update it now and then as it progresses.
Currently in the process of being painted, was stripped back to metal and primed on the weekend.
This is how the car looked before I took it off the road, two years ago. (this was the original paint, from '64)
As it sat before going to the paint shop (rear will still go about an inch lower-car measures 51 inches tall!)
And alongside the wife's '33, in the shed:

Re: My '64 XM falcon
It should look good, I tried to buy a old falcon of a guy down the road from my dads farm many many years ago, it was a factory raven black, with blood red interior, lots of crome, XL-or XP I think, but he was going to do it up one day.... but he never did

Perfect. Nice to see a rod that is driven. So you have two sweet rides in your family. Thanks for sharing them.

Wow mate very nice rod and a great falcon project aswell, but, can fit more than an icy pole stick under it, NOT low enough mate.

Haha, busted! Sure is Adam.
Car has come along quite a bit now, hence my slow up on the models. Here's some updated pics of where I'm at.
Air system hardware in:
Most if the dash back together:
Jewellery back on the guards:
And back on the rest of the car, and car back on the ground, for now:
This photo is at my eye level, I'm 5'10". Pretty happy with the height (car will still be able to drive and turn at this height too!)

Re: My '64 XM falcon
NEEDS MOAR LOW!
I'd vote massively wide rear steelies and some fat tyres.
But wow, stunning Falcon mate.

Re: My '64 XM falcon
Just an update on the XM. Been pretty busy with it, hence why I haven't finished a model in months But can"t have everything. I'm lucky enough to be able to get out to the shed still, having a fairly new born 8 month old boy.
Anyways, getting close now, driveline back in, brakes done, got some glass in, electrics just about finished & the seats are back, I wanted the interior to reflect custom interior trends of the early/mid 60's. I think my trimmer nailed it!!
Engine bay is all back together:
All comments welcome guys.
