55 Chevy ute
Hi everyone, its been a little while since my last post. This is the AMT 55 chevy nomad built using the ute pieces. This is the shop truck for the Plum Lake Mill and Lumberyard. I added some stuff to the back and some planks for the roll bars. This has been sitting for about a year waiting to be finished along with a sedan delivery and a mild custom nomad. You may see the sedan delivery here soon. The background is a diorama I am working on. I hope you like it.

Re: 55 Chevy ute
Every time i see a ute version of these kits i think "what a waste of a great Nomad"! But this time i looked at it and thought " what an awsome ute that is"! Very well done DaddyO, diorama looks brilliant too man.

Re: 55 Chevy ute
Thanks guys I appreciate all of your positive feedback. The roof on this was a real nightmare and it almost ended up being wall art many times. If you look closely there is a small crack at the base of the roof. As I was in the throws of final assembly I pushed the bottom up a fraction too hard and split the join. My testicles shrunk up into my body It was then that I decide to build it as a work truck that was the pride and joy of some car loving tradesman. I driilled holes in the rear quarters to accomodate the roll bars and added the "stuff' to the back and a little "rust". I liked the look of the ute and I think this is what kept me going. It is one of my favourite builds. Thanks.

Re: 55 Chevy ute
I'm with DeeCee on this one, every time i see a ute version of this kit i also think what a waste of a good Nomad. But WOW that is one fine looking tradie ute, that's one ute you don't see on the Gold Coast.

You guys are looking at this the wrong way..... I may have carved up a good nomad but I now have a fine nomad roof to add to something else.... Is the cup half empty or half full? I can now build two phantom versions. Who knows where the roof will pop up next.
Thanks again guys for your kind words, I really do appreciate it. Cheers
