'41 Willys gasser
Hey All, this is another car for my diorama, revell's '41 Willys gasser. Ain't been raced in a long time! Going for the look of a 'glass fronted car, with worn paint & surface rust on the steel body. Still not sure if I should leave the engine bay empty or put a semi-pulled down motor in there- Thoughts??
Some pics, enjoy:

Going to look good, how about leaving the engine block in it with out the heads on it,so it shows piston tops but leave one out like its dropped one into the engine.

Nice work on this - your weathered models always look so realistic.

Re: '41 Willys gasser
Nah , my experience with old hot rods and drag cars are the first thing to come out is the motor . Hve you seen the movie hot rod ?
Re: '41 Willys gasser
I reckon with your talent mate, go with Allans idea, but maybe with a leg out the side of the block?? Some sump damage etc?? The body is looking pretty good so far , will be watching Retro.

Re: '41 Willys gasser
Thanks guys.
Well that's what's got me undecided Scummy, I like the idea of a semi pulled down motor, BUT, exactly as you say, with a drag car, first thing out is always motor and box.

What ever you do its going to be a cool build. if it had a blown engine in it,It may of been left in the engine bay,so you can go that idea.

Re: '41 Willys gasser
If you go look for barn-find drag cars on Google you will see many complete, but slightly aged, drag cars being hauled out of garages and sheds...and even overgrown with weeds...like the owners just came home one day and parked them. So you could put a motor in it. Now if it was wrecked in some way then I could see the motor going straight away...but if it is reasonably straight then why not have the motor there. Back in SA there was a Fiat drag car that was sitting in a fruit packing shed...complete but dusty...the owner just gave up racing it and didn't know what to do with it.

Re: '41 Willys gasser
Small update on this, went with a partially stripped motor, interior "goodies". Nearly done, save for some weathering and finer details. Enjoy.
