Kannonball Kombi
Finally got this one off the bench, built as a cannonball run capable Kombi van,. It runs a Ford Cosworth overhead cam v8 and transaxle
from an early F1 car, which has been narrowed and also has a scratch built injection set-up, and mix matched exhaust, which exits from a custom
outlet built into the rear body work. The body has 3 inlet scoops, all were Mopar scoops, the one on the roof is actually moulded in upside down,
to allow for air to be dragged in for the engine to breath. The side scoops are for the twin radiators, one each side, also has a chassis mounted fuel tank.
Body is painted Candy pink over a white base, and has black/blue pearl fades and a slight blue pearl in the clear coat , the roof was another story altogether.
Wheels are Pegasus DZ's, low rider spokes.
Side doors were joined to make one, which flips up, and a big screen TV will then swing out for a late night viewing.
Well, after a slow start to the year, i now hope to get a few more done, there is a Mopar on the bench somewhere that needs finishing.

Re: Kannonball Kombi
Brilliant.
IRL I think the torque from the engine would either rip all the spokes out or tear up the tyres but who cares about real life?

Re: Kannonball Kombi
Thanks guys, and no, there is nothing in the milo mate, inspiration is brought on through sheer stupidity sometimes, and " don't be scared to hack up a kit" is what i go by, most of the time it works out.

Re: Kannonball Kombi
Thanks guys,
they tend to crack or snap right off, had it happen to 2 of these kits now. So just gave up and closed them before i did too much damage.
Yes Homer, they are supposed to open, but being an old kit, the external hinges are very brittle, and when you click them togetherhomers customs wrote:Nice do the front doors open on these kits???

Re: Kannonball Kombi
You're gunna run a cannonball on those little tars?
Great concept, brilliantly executed, love the paint, but please take plenty of spare wheels on the run.
