Did this late last year just before we moved out to mums, hadn't realized I didnt post it till I was giving Carps' some stick (r olds post). Anyhows Revell kit box stock orange Duplicolor with tan skulls with PPG lame flake over top.
I keep getting ideas for this kit so you might just see some more one day

Re: 49 merc
Your paint is so good that as you haven't run any wash along the panel gaps or detailed the window trim it looks like the body was moulded in metallic orange and then polished.
Which is a compliment BTW!
I wish I could build then that clean.
I want to get hold of another one of these as I want to do a body swap between AMT & Revell and build a channeled stock roof custom and a chopped gasser.
All I need is a job

Re: 49 merc
Thanks mate, I always intend on doing a panel wash, even have some acrylic smoke to do it, just never remember, or afraid I'll stuff it up. I hear you on the job front, I cant work full time but even my relief drivings become quite sporadic lately and thats my model money . Still that's why I stocked as many kits as I could when I could.

Re: 49 merc
If you wax the paint then do a panel wash it serves 2 purposes - adding depth and hiding wax residue.
And the wax makes it easy to wipe off any excess wash from the paint with a sucked cotton bud or licked hanky (yes - a nanna style lick wash!).
Quick & lazy way to detail the window surrounds is to run a texter round the inside of the window to replicate the rubber seals.
