'68 Road Runner Wreckscue Mission
I was happy with this build apart from the lack of shine on the wheels (I hadn't started using Alcad at this stage) and the frelling ghosting on the frelling bonnet that I couldn't frelling get rid off (don't ever glue strip into a "cut here" slot with styrene cement to fill it).
And then the clear cracked due to White Knight deciding to put ACRYLIC in big letters on the paint can and enamel in really teeny tiny letters.
So I pulled it apart and chucked the body into the dot 4 bath.
I'll be changing the wheels (no pics yet) but keeping the interior exactly as it is as I quite like what I did...
...particularly the ashtray.
So then I pulled the body out of the brake fluid to give it a scrub and immediately chucked it into the rinse bucket as this is what I saw.
Yes. Good isn't it. The stripper got into the cracks and removed the green but where there was no crack it couldn't get through the clear.
I'm keeping this as it's so cool.

RHD eh? Cool . And those ARII wheels would probably look ok with a squirt of ALCLAD.........for something else that is.
Crazy green paint........

Probably a good start for a camo paint job, but need to do something about that habit though, or empty the bloody thing once in a while. Should look good no matter what you do mate.

Re: '68 Road Runner Wreckscue Mission
I'm leaving it like it is, just with satin clear over the top. One that wont react this time I hope...
The wheels are resin copies of Arii's. They are currently in the caustic soda and will be in line for alcladding & putting back into circulation on something suitable. Maybe a van.

I love the effect, you could use a clear green and do a slight fade at the bottom, but it still looks good as it is.

Re: '68 Road Runner Wreckscue Mission
Where the dot 4 chewed out the paint it's left it lower than the clear. I did think about running some colour along these low points - sort of like grouting.
I didn't do it in this case but i've got a couple more builds with cracked clear which i'm thinking of seeing if I can achieve the same effect on so I might try with one of them.

Re: '68 Road Runner Wreckscue Mission
Translucent brown clear coat?
Would fill the gaps - would give it a whole Alligator/Crocodile/Dinosaur theme, scales with brown skin underneath?
Would also tarnish up the green and make it look a bit dirtier, thus again - more skin-like effects.

Thanks mate. It's just bits of white electrical wire with the tips painted tan.
Mine used to look like that. Now it's full of lolly wrappers.
