Salt Flats Roadster

Is this 1/8th scale or larger? Cant recall it being mentioned.

hgmon, it is 1/4 scale. Here's a snap of the corner of the computer room with some of the models.
This will give a comparison to other scales. 1/8 corvette on shelf and 1/6 Liberty Hemi engine.
I like the amount of detail you can put into large scale stuff and building in 1/4 scale means the
cars are unique as there are no parts available for them.....gotta make all of it.

Almost finished the bodywork. There will be a lot of flush fitting fasteners on the alloy panels.
The screws are temp. Molding tires and wheels tomorrow.  Cover for blower pop-off and air intake panels still to make.

Man that is beautiful. Does it run?

mgy125, I think more people in this part of the world would relate to "Heath Robinson" as a builder
of strange devices.

It is very calming to watch the machine run.

The nose has an opening to allow air to be picked up forward of the salt that is kicked up by the front tires.
Air box and tube mockup....

Here is an early type port injection system used in about 1958. Engine almost finished.

EDIT: should have written both cars use same seat belt construction. This was easier than taking another pic.

This is now finished....except for the little bits that will never be finished.
