Re: Diamond Reo
a bit more progress on this one, interior is fitted and cab and bonnet fitted to chassis, just the details to be done and a tipper body to be made, had some fit issues with this one, dont know if its me or the kit, after fitting the bonnet (cant really get this in the wrong place) the cab would not line up with the bonnet and the chassis as a result the cab is slightly off centre and has a small tilt to one side but if i dont tell anyone i dont think they will notice.....

Re: Diamond Reo
Looking good. There were fit issues with this kit when it was released. With bonnet not fitting properly. Seems you have worked your way around them pretty. Thanks for the info on switching steering box to rh side and mods need to inner guard to clear it. I trust that the rhd dash panel you purchased from me fitted okay.
cheers

Re: Diamond Reo
This build is coming along nicely. One of the more experienced(older) modellers told me that if you have a twist in the bonnet(plastic), it can be overcome by using a piece of brass strip. You bend a brass strip into a 'u' shape that fits under the bonnet at the firewall end and glue it in. Once set, you can twist the bonnet to the correct position and the brass holds it there - apparently. I've never tried it but I'm told that's how to cure the Italeri Superliner bonnet twist. I imagine it may take a bit of trial and error to get the right size brass, but given that you can get something to fit around air cleaner pipes etc, I can't see why it wouldn't work?

yup the dash fitts perfectly, will put up pics of it, also had clearance probs with the rh guard and the cab, solved it by cutting a lil more away from the gaurd, u can only see it when its up, when in the closed position the removed sections are hidden behind the battery boxes.

I've never heard that one . Usually just use a hair dryer but dont hold it oo close or it will melt it .
Re: Diamond Reo
Looks great, coming together nicely but painfully by the sounds of it.
I think it's the best thing I've seen you post on here John, great build.
