1950 Chevy Panel truck
Just putting this one up its a new resin body that I just picked up, Got it from Steve at star models its a Hendrix 1950 Chevy panel truck, you need a AMT (6437) 1950 Chevy 3100 pick up truck its green on the box art or you can use the AMT Texaco 1950 chevy 3100 pickup truck. Both kits will build it up as a stock panel truck.

Don't know when I will get around to building this one as yet, Just thought some might like to see this one.Oh hqmon has done a RHD dash for the pickup. Grey bonnet is from kit (6437)

Re: 1950 Chevy Panel truck
Hmmm does not look like it would take much to make an 48-215 / FJ out of that.
Didnt someone on here start making a mold for the FJ ... ????

Re: 1950 Chevy Panel truck
Checkmate was working on one.
I suspect he's a little busy at the moment as it's only 6 weeks or so until the Tumut show.

In technical terms it wouldn't be a 48-215, 215 is a standard sedan and they didn't make vans in 48. The first van was in the FJ series and was coded 2104.

I'm just working on improving the moulds for the FJ and doing a better chassis so it's easy to work with. (more like a plastic kit for fit and finish)

They did make a 48-215 van only 13 they came out in 1953 just before the FJ which came out in march, you see a lot of FJ vans with 48-215 front ends on them.

Re: 1950 Chevy Panel truck
It cant be a 48-215, 48 is the year it was made 215 is standard sedan, 225 is special sedan, 2104 is van, 2106 is ute. If it's a 1953 van it's a 53-2104.

Allan,Nice Panel-Hendrix Resin , haven't worked them yet, resin looks good. Model Roundup has them on their listing, so I.ll see what they have in the way of vans or some other conversion.. Also nice FJ Rob, I think I will to do a starter on the FJ Van ---Kustom , Pro Street or Wild Bunch Drag Car--decisions---decision??

Re: 1950 Chevy Panel truck
big bad kustom, Only one thing the rear floor panel is thin and needs to be put in hot water to straighten it out, over all its a nice clean body. still thinking on what to do with it.

I can visualise an FJ van monster truck - Aussie version of the Gravedigger.
