`66 Olds-camino.
This is one i have been working on for a while now. I combined 66 olds with 66 elcamino to create a factory phantom.
Painted the body colour today with nail polish

Very nice even finish - have you experimented with a clear coat over the nail polish yet? Just wondering if there is any adverse reaction?

Re: `66 Olds-camino.
Finally got around too doing the foiling. First use of Cadbury foil, lot easier to work with than bmf.
I need to refine the technique a bit to suit me, but still happy with results .

Although i will admit i am more ham fisted than Michele is .

Re: `66 Olds-camino.
Steve, that's awesome and much better looking than the Chevy El-Camino IMHO.
Think I may have to check out the Cadbury Foil deal, took me the best part of an hour last night and a quarter sheet of BMF just to to the windscreen frame on my '36 coupe.
Tezza, clear coat on nail polish is a no brainer. However one needs to be sure which nail polish as some is enamel and the rest is lacquer, thus the same rules apply as do for regular paint. Clear enamel will work with both, clear lacquer will only work with lacquer based nail polishes.

Looks like your looking for an excuse to eat some Chocy Carps!! ................ and with the BMF did you apply it in one piece or 4 to the frame? Also while we are on the subject of BMF, I read on Spotlight Hobbies that they are aware of the problems they have had with cracking and non-sticking batches and are sorting it out and they will gladly replace dodgy sheets if you send them a sample (Postage will hurt but being USA) HTH.
Oh and that's looking neat Stevo!!

Re: `66 Olds-camino.
One piece then trimmed and rubbed and trimmed again. I think the problem is more to do with my ability to see the edge as I need the light to see but then the BMF reflects off my specs.Paul wrote:Carps, did you apply the BMF in one piece or 4 to the frame?
Haven't had any issue with cracking or non sticking BMF, just cutting in the right places and getting all the excess off neatly.
