Foose charger

Hey guys its been awhile since I've built any thing so here's my next build. I'm going to paint it black and red instead of black and sliver. And to get it to sit like it does on the box I'm going to  have to do some serious cutting and chopping to get it to sit like that as the wheels are massive. did a test fit and they sit way to high so to get them tucked into the guards going to be a challenge. here's where I'm up to

I like the wiring.

 I have wondered obout these foose kits, are they as good as the box art?? Looks like they just rehash the same old kit with different wheels, but, at least it has a real Hemi, nice job on that too by the way mate. Got a pic of the wheels? and are there any other added goodies that you can see? Will still be worth the effort to lower it though, don't want to make it too easy, they go together too quickly then. Will be watching this transform into a sweet Mopar.

Hey man yeah they do look as good as the box art but your right its just a rehash of an old kit with different wheels which are massive and it doesn sit any where as low as whats on the box art. There a few extras in the kit like different hood scoops and you do get a set of old school mags with it which was cool. the decal sheet has heaps of options to as well

Hey DeeCee here's a pic of the wheels and I changed my mind on the color after seeing a mates car that he's building which is a Foose impala. he used a chrome paint on his engine so got my mind tickin over reckon it'll look good on the body Im hoping it turns out ok.

look'n tough man, great job, personal opinon those wheels suc, but thats just me, sorry.

Were they smart enough to put big and little wheels in this kit or are they the same size all round?

The kit had big aftermarket rims and small old school rims you can build it either original or modded

Got abit done this week wont be able to do any more as Im going back to work soon hope you guy's like the pic's hope to have more done when I get back from work

Finally back from work what along swing that was. Have finished the body and put three coats of clear on it just waiting for it to dry than going to have a go at putting a mirror finish on it like so many of you guys have on your builds. Any tips would be helpful as Im new to doing this and I don't want to stuff it up. Ive got some 2000 grit sandpaper to wet sand it but am unsure what to do next. Also finished the inside of the car to Im happy with how it turned out was going to go abit overboard with it but stopped my self thank god. Hope you guys like the pics.

What grade did you sand the colour coat to before putting the BMF on?
The best advice I can give for the smoothest finish is to start at the base coat, because the better the base coat the better the top coat finish, so I wet sand up to about 2000 between coats and then up to 2500 & 3000 for the clear, followed by what ever polish you like best. I use Meguiars Scratch-X, but I'm sure others will have similar or better solutions.

Hey man I only sanded the silver cause it came out the can really blotchy. Was surpose to be chrome but doesn't look like it at all. When I put the black on the paint looked ok when it went on smooth enough for my liking. But I see now that if I had the BMF would have looked a lot smoother. I hate learning from my mistakes haha. Thanks for the advice I'll try it out.

I agree pretty well with young TJ,  i use 2000 grit, usually worn out, used to use maguires showroom shine but have found much better results with Auto Glym  super resin polish, much better result with a lot less effort, which i like,

So how long does it take you to do a paint job?
I've often seen people say they sand between coats and wondered that.
And do you mean literally between coats?  So you've got the body in undercoat and it's nice and smooth and you want to paint it with green car paint from a rattle can (decanted or from the can - technique should be basically the same).
So mist coat of green.  Sand?  If yes, how long do you wait for it to dry?
Another mist coat of green.  Sand now? How long a wait?
Wet coat of green.  Sand?  How long a wait?
And so on until the green is done.
And the same with the clear.  Sanding between coats of clear?  How long do you wait?

I will sand and polish between colour and clear and again after clear but I've never achieved that super mirror shine some of you guys get.
