1/24 K200 Kenworth and Drake Low Loader
The rumour came true! It's on modelcars mag forum and a Facebook page Model Truck Builders From Around The World. Great news for everybody into trucks.

Re: 1/24 K200 Kenworth and Drake Low Loader
The kits are spose to be plastic and going by the price of their diecast stuff the kits should be around $ 2000.00 a peice ?
Re: 1/24 K200 Kenworth and Drake Low Loader
Hey guys, Paul mentions this in the events section too. I'm led to believe that Drake trailers have had something to do with this in conjunction with Moebius. Wondering if you'll have to buy truck and float or if it will be available separately?

Yep. Â Still no 1/24 or 1/25 big yellow machine kits apart from the ancient AMT Dozer and the Paystar dump truck.

Maybe someone will do a big yellow piece of equipment. Meng did a d12 in 1/35 scale, so the could upscale that.

Someone at the show mentioned the price was about $120.00 for the truck and $150.00 for the low loader and dolly

Seems reasonable to me. Think about the price of the revell trucks. Plus if you build an aussie truck using a conversion kit, they are up to $150 just for the conversion kit. Plus you have to add bullbars, mud guards, spider wheels....
It cost me approx $450 to do a T904 Kenworth. I'll happily pay $120 for the truck and $150 for the trailer.
Cheers

I'm with you Ben, $120 for a ready made OZ spec truck is good, so long as its accurate. but still most will spec it to their own tastes

The Meng kit is an armoured D9. Â It's a great kit (i've got one to build) but it'd need a completely new cab to represent a civilian machine. Â It's also a kerbside.
Personally i'd like a full detail D6R LGP, a 12G Grader and a Volvo D25 all in 1/25.

Re: 1/24 K200 Kenworth and Drake Low Loader
It sounds like good value for money to me. Not sure about the 'Cummings' engine mentioned on the blurb.  Perhaps we'll all have to get together and put in an order with KFS. Apparently if someone orders a minimum of 30 items he'd re run the excavator or Michigan wheel loader....

There is no such thing as a D12 (other than the gay rap group that Eminem (or should that be M&M) was in). The Dozer you're thinking of was the significantly smaller D9...
It may just seem like a number, but in 1:1 the D9 is "only" 49.75ton... The Largest Cat dozer, the D11T, tips the scales at around 120ton.

Re: 1/24 K200 Kenworth and Drake Low Loader
Any one heard any more on this? Things seem to have gone very quiet in regard to this. One rumour said it was supposed to be released at the Nagambie model show this month????? KFS are/were taking no deposit pre orders for a re run of their excavator kit. Maybe a bit small for this float but a reasonably modern piece of yellow metal.

Ok, from both Auslowe and Drake Collectibles, the rumours about It being released at Nagambie are false.
.
Drake collectibles have stated that they are hoping for a release date to coincide with a truck show in May.
