Hi Allan, Sorry mate & no offence, as it's just my own personal thoughts, but I reckonallan wrote:You can post your thoughts on this one, The model is posted here for all to have a say about it good or bad, negative or positive.
this ute would have looked real good maybe without all the decals?.
Or maybe grouped together a bit tidier?. To me it looks as if they were kinda put on
here and there at random?. Other than that mate, it's still a nicely built ute.

Re: RANCHERO
Jerry Ol'55, ya me did go a bit over the top with the decals on it, was only going to have two on it at first, the blue ridge one and the road service one. Worked at a service station when I was 16, There workshop ute had that many sticks on it you could not see the paint on it, the ute was a old morris 1000.

Re: RANCHERO
Ya the good old days, my job was to check the oil and the tyres, they had two girls that put the fuel in the cars, Its started as Ampol then changed to Shell. Hate wearing the ties each day.

Re: RANCHERO
Yeh mate.. but then you got a tank full of petrol, your oil checked, tyres pumped up,allan wrote:Ya the good old days, my job was to check the oil and the tyres, they had two girls that put the fuel in the cars, Its started as Ampol then changed to Shell. Hate wearing the ties each day.
windscreen washed (sometimes), and the blokes or girls had leather waist pouches
to carry cash (so they could give you change etc. You didn't even have to get out of your
car!.) That was "SERVICE". Pretty much like the "fast food drive throughs" of today!.
But now you gotta pump your own petrol (without splashing any on your shoes or pants),
then go inside, stand in line and pay while others are waiting their turn at the bowser.
Then it's a scoot over to the Air / Water bay so you can make your car feel good again.
Somethings wrong here!!!.....It's quicker to get a Big Mac!

No, it's cheaper as they only have to pay one lot of wages. That's also why they stopped refilling gas cylinders - because to do so they needed to have 2 employees at the servo.
Ute looks good Al.
Now finish it...
