Ford Courier Chevy Nova

Got some more done this week. Built a front end out of the AMT Vantasy kit and the bottom stone try from the Amt Mercury kit.



Also got a roll cage built.


I also got the turbo mounted to the engine and an exhaust done, it's just a big ass dump pipe. Painted and assembled.



Got some paint on the chassis and roll cage and had my first attempt at flocking.



Still a stack more building and detailing but it's getting there.  

Looking good.

I have been opening and closing the box this is in for a long time now, and putting it back into the to much work pile. I have been watching Street Outlaws a bit lately and its got me motivated to build some different street race rides, American style of coarse because Australian rules suck the big on for modded road drag cars.

So the Courier Nova its back on the bench till the end now, I cant believe I haven't touched it in over a year

but I have painted the roll cage titanium silver from the horrid purple yesterday, hopefully that will kick start the next stage of scratch building and detailing. I am still searching for the right size tyres to run on the rear, but prob have to order them from the states.

Anyway this is what it looks like now.

Glad to see you back into this one mate, that darn Street Outlaws has a lot to answer for, i just finished my Cuda based around something i would see on that show.  (It's great inspiration) Get her finished mate..

Alright, this is so cool, watching you put this together. I need to see this done, this is the best mini truck I have seen done up...........WOW!

I finally sat at my workbench for what seams like a long time Yay, been hot a work all summer and my workbench is in a non aircon workbench so been avoiding it, but this has been on my mind a lot so with a few cool nights I got some more built, almost done most of the big building stuff, now its onto touch ups on the chassis and engine then wiring and pluming stuff, the interior is all worked out and mostly made, then the paint will be last, don't even know what colour yet but it does have purple carpet so will have to match that.

Anyway I remade some front coil over struts with Nissan GTR brakes that I resin cast a while ago, happy with the result so far on them. also finally chose some front wheels to use, they are 2 piece, think there Pegasus or something aftermarket.





I got an intercooler mounted and piping done, the pipe is a bit rough at the moment as I had to re heat after I already painted it  the intercooler was another part I cast in resin, think its also a GTR part, the pipes are just sprew heated and bent.





after a lot of adjusting and head scratching, everything finally fitted in the body  the grill is an resin cast part, not going to use it as a final part as I cant get a decent part out of the mold.

Oh my goodness!... How time flies when you're watching other peoples builds! ... my last post on this interesting build was Fri. 12 Sept. 2014. I would really like to see this truck finished. C'mon Morrie!...

yea it got put in a box then that box got put in a bigger box for a long while, when I get into builds that are full on I sometimes loose interest for long periods, I want this finished now though so hang in there Jerry... lol..

I have been working on getting this build done, I have had a bit of time on my hands having stitches in my knee so putting it to good use.

I have pretty much finished detailing the engine, made a few add on's like a surge tank, an external waste gate, gave the engine some pluming with braided lines.







the body is a bit tight but it fits, so that's good enough, just need to touch up some paint and its finally done.



Also didn't have a bonnet for this kit but did manage to find a complete courier kit super cheap half way through this build, so I decided to build a copy out of styrene.





I have also finished installing the front struts and build steering rod etc to make the front wheels turn.





I got the interior finished ready to put in. I have used resin race seats that I made a cast of from another kit.







And last up installed the wheelie bars that come with the Nova kit.



Now onto the exterior of the Ute and the paint
