Harley Imports
Have started a new project. I have a cheap wooden chopping board for my base. A box off a 1/50 scale Diecast truck. A 1/43 scale Falcon AU XR8 Ute. Some 1/45 scale plastic Harleys. Some 1/35 scale hand tools and some 1/76 scale model Train accessories. I will attempt to blend all these different scale bits in to a small diorama depicting some Harleys being unloaded from a container.

Re: Harley Imports
Have finally made some progress.
I have come to the conclusion that this little container box is cursed. In opening it up to fit a wooden floor and add opening doors it broke in several places. After much gluing, filling and sanding I got it looking not too bad. After spending hours painting and weathering it I dropped it on a concrete floor. More repairs and repainting. After finally finishing it I decided to give it a coat of Testors Dullcote. Instead of spraying, the paint splurted out in big thick blobs. Resisting the temptation to jump up and down on it crushing it in to thousands of tiny fragments ......... I sanded it back and repainted it again and spent many more hours weathering it. Not going to be caught again with the Testors I brush painted it with Vallejo matt varnish which gives a nice matt finish and rarely shows brush marks. However .... my little container has now developed a glossy finish and is riddled with brush marks. Refusing to let this evil little piece of plastic totally destroy my sanity I have decided to ignore all the faults and carry on with the diorama. I have put the container out of sight for now so that it cant taunt me while I continue working on some of the other components.

Re: Harley Imports
This one seems to be taking forever. Lots of fiddly little painting jobs. Made some straps to hold the tailgate up on the ute and loaded a couple of bikes on it as well as an oil drum.

Re: Harley Imports
Finally finished !. Thought it would take about 6 weeks. Don't know how it dragged on for 5 months.
