"J" Model Gasser
Its my turn to do a 'GASSER' with a recently purchased ( like ,received today) Henry J Gasser kit from Kool Kits. This came about when my wife saw a little Hot Wheels toy Henry J Gasser, so I bought it ; it only cost $1.99 on special. The more I looked at it , as its in front of me on computer table, the more inspired I got to build a bigger one with more detail and a few tricks to it . This one is going to be fun! It begins tomorrow and I'll post some pic's as I go along. Keep watching.

"J" Model Gasser is progressing slowly (in between other WIP cars) with narrowed rear and tubbed chassis and temporary top fuel motor

Re: "J" Model Gasser
Adam The "J" Model is movin along gradually. I was waiting on a set of wheels from The Parts Box as they had a particular type I liked. I,m at odds as to which engine I am using (not the Top Fuel motor you see above) Thinking of Big Block Chev or traditional Olds motor ,either way ,blown. It is also getting a roof chop . So, WIP continues!

Re: "J" Model Gasser
Thanks Adam . Just looking at the BB Chevy in the '67 Chevelle Pro Street. I might use that even though it has a Muncie 4-speed box or else I could use my resin cast BB Chev with Turbo 400 as the base starter with chrome add ons ,eg., blower etc. Still working on rear end as I am using my resin cast 12 bolt Chev diff. I'll put up some pics soon.

Re: "J" Model Gasser
Photoless Update ; The roof on the "J Model" Henry has been chopped and the new diff is slowly getting mounted , had to curve the chassis a bit more to fit it. As for photo,s ,the memory stick is still in the camera that went AWOL , day after the Nostalgia drags at WSID .

Re: "J" Model Gasser
Yeeeeeeeeees, its gone, I think its in the house somewhere, and there's not enough in the kitty for a newie . Big problem as I need it for Summernats at Canberra next Thursday, Friday and Saturday. As for the "J" I'll start on the Blown BB Chev motor next and the front suspension.

Re: "J" Model Gasser
OK Paul : To satisfy your curiosity, the Knee Trembler EH (modified TRAX diecast) is a representation of a C/MP Drag Car I campaigned at Castlereagh Drags in 1974, 75 and 76. I bought it as is with the "name' from its previous owner. In a time when most drag cars had some sort of name, occasionally some still recognize the car, and not so much the name of the owner. Majority of the cars those days in MP classes were 6 Cyl, FJ"s, FC's , EH's and the odd HR, and nearly all had some kind of name plastered along the sides. Just take a look at Nostalgia Drags these days and you'll see why?
I was going to finish it but TRAX brought out a more detailed EH( Opal Series), and I was going to redo it with that. I should finish this one though, I guess?

Re: "J" Model Gasser
I was just about to rekindle this project here , but micsmav beat me to it. Progress report so far : the rearend narrowed with coil over shocks, the kits front suspension is lowered, the roof chop is done just needing cleanup, and engine is the 429 Ford "Shotgun' cammer with blower. Starting to work out colour scheme using Matt Olive Green. That's all folks, for now.
Cheers Ron
