32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Here is something different i decided to salvage, and turn it into a Hot Rod.
Not happy with the flow of the roofline, so it's gone to make way for something a little bit more custom looking.
This one came from about a 36/7 Ford, just not wide enough.
So , made a hood lining, to hide the joins, and also support the 2 halves to keep them even.
A long way to go, but it will be interesting i think.

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Wow, right into the next one eh? That 36/7 roof really suits once you see it on there, if you'd asked me beforehand I'd have said no but this is looking smooth already.
What kit is this Dale, I've got a Johan '35 Mercedes in the stash and was thinking of stuffing a Merlin V12 in it? Are you going with the original donk?

Cheers TJ, but i have no clue what kit it is, as i got a box off old crap like this of a friend years ago.
As for engine will be a V16 , with a few mods, just to go with the theme. Was looking at a blown Hemi, but........still actually thinking about it actually .

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Now that's a odd one. I would lay the grill back a bit. and widen the rear fenders.

Off to a good start, next you need to get rid of the boat anchor and install some or muscle.

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
I had that kit when I was I kid, was a Xmas present, cant remember what brand it was and it didn't last long. (Even at a young age I hated Euros).
The roofs a massive improvement already, this'll be cool to watch.

Back on it actually, it's called Tooheys Extra Dry,
Thanks for the interest guys, Rob, looking at the box of bits i started with, they look like something some young fella dumped in the trash.
Yes the roof made a huge difference, i have also found some motivation for it, 16 cylinders of Cadillac V !!!
Here is a mock up of it in hi-fill primer.

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Now I've seen that V16 Caddie donk I'm sure that's a JoHan '32 Merc, 'cause that V16 is from a JoHan Caddie kit, got one of those donks myself thanks to my bro Antwon, so that box of crap has a bit of Johan stuff in it I'm guessing.

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Ooooh I'm liking where this is going. What's your plans for paint? And the roof mod is a great touch makes it more streamline.

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Thank's men, Dean, i think i should do the Dizzy, before i get dizzy on medication mate, TJ, i went through every piece in that box, and not a single marking on anythink, so it sounds like you are on the money mate, and Aaron, i have a couple of ideas, leaning towards a gold which i recently did my 41' Willy's in, with some black shading under the gold, but we will see.

Re: 32' Mercedes Hot Rod.
Thanks guys, well, slow going on this one, but here is a small update.
After opening the doors, the interior was no where near wide enough, so i found something in the scrap box, that will make do.
Plenty of cutting and shutting to do to it yet though.
Started on the engine too.
Now i have to make a full set of headers for a V16, now that will be a job and a half i think.
