1965 Chev Impala Kustom
This is my only surviving buiilds from 1966 Some were destroyed by Penny Bungers and a couple went missing. It was painted by brush using Humbrol paint (remember them ha ha ! ) and engine detailing using mum's cotton. Nothing has been changed since I built it straight out of the box. Enjoy this look into the past of modelling.

Re: 1965 Chev Impala Kustom
Remember Humbrol? i still use it*.
Although admittedly not for painting complete bodies any more.
You put a good level of detail into it BBK.
* Thickened (i.e. on it's way to drying up) Humbrol gloss makes and excellant filler for joints between 2 pieces of rod. Such as on a motorcycle frame or in a roll cage. It will not completely hide a join but when overpainted will look like a weld. Just let it gloop onto the joint from a brush and run into the crevices.

Thanks Allan . It survived mainly bcause I'm a fan of Impala's and a bit of careful protection . I have some more from that era that I will let youalll have a look at over the next few weeks. Talking showing cars, Ill be at the Wagga Show on 19 Oct.
And yes Zenrat, I still buy and use Humbrol even as recent as a week ago.

Are you guys kidding? I lurrve Humbrol enamel. Number 85 satin black is great for in between bare metal foil around doors and windows. And number 56 aluminium is indispensable for auto trans and alternators. Plus it's the only way to go if you want to dry brush anything. Bring on the Humbrol I say!
