'64 FORD FAIRLANE 'GASSER'
G'day again. Here is my latest creation. Started with the Revell '64 Fairlane Street Machine, but decided to do something a little different with it.
Because the rear slicks in my parts stash were to wide, I cemented then puttied 2 "skinnies" together to make the ideal size tyres for this car. Tubbed out rear arches to suit. Partly removed engine bay sides to allow for modified extractors & dump pipes. Front end axle, steering, suspension etc. was donated from the Willys Drag Coupe kit.
Thunderbolt 427 engine was from the box but with carby tubes, fuel line and ignition wiring added. Bonnet rear vents were puttied up and larger vent fashioned into the top.
Center chrome body strips were sanded away, and car was painted in 'Anchor Lacquer' White Gloss with 'Duplicolor' Venus Orange stripe. Thin black stripe & all other decals were home printed and applied. 2 coats of 'Anchor' gloss clear was then sprayed on.
BMF'd around windows etc., Moon tank from parts stash and 'Sprue' built Roll Bar were added during assembly.
Hope you like and thanks for looking.
P.S. Anybody know what class the car would run in? as I would like to put the correct class letters on rear windows. Cheers.

Re: '64 FORD FAIRLANE 'GASSER'
That's awesome Jerry. Just my cup of Dilmah.
Makes me wonder what one would be like with a cammer in it?
The class she would have run in mainly depends on the year. They kept changing the rules from year to year but the basic formula was cubes per pound decided the class (with separate classes for blown cars and normally aspirated ones).
Even with a 427 it's a big heavy car so i'd guess at B/Gas.

Thanks heaps Fred... I tried getting some info on Google, but as you say they kept chopping & changing the class, (very confusing).
Anyway I'm going with your suggestion of B/Gas, so that's the lettering going on the rear windows.
