Old Yellas Workshop
its been a looooong while since i posted anything , and seeing as some one else posted a various works thread i thought id condense and do one as well , ill chuck some pics up as i go ( the first few pages will probably be pic heavy ) and it might give me some more incentive to get the camera out and take more photos of what im doing .
so heres some pics of what ive been upto lately , as well as progress shots on the 2 threads i started before
this is getting near finished , just gotta be bothered to sit there and actually work on it now , the biggest mod was putting a z in the frame , ive deleted the tray and made a tank from a droptank of a 1:72 hornet i think it was , or mighta been a harpoon missile ? ( if any one wants a soft top set up for a T bucket message me )
now this one ( series of pics coming ) i had the idea from having the willys shell there , and thinking about F&F tokyo drift , and what if i put the running gear from a sky line under it , so i bought the model and hadda cut n shut a LOOOOOT , i took about 3-4mm off the length of the skyline bottom half there and the willys will end up longer by around 2mm as well , and wider as youll see
so far ive got the back and cab all tickety boo , im just waiting on finding some funds to by some more pegasus wheels to get the front clip all sorted , have to figure out if i make it a tip front or what as well , then on with the interior

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
its a crap pic i know , but this is almost the latest on the '28 hotty with the v12 flatty
decided that because the supercharger was honking huge , and in keeping with tradition , id mount it at the front of the block and ill make up some ducting to feed the monster.
windshield frame comes courtesy of the door frames from an old huey gunship model . waiting to buy shoes for this as well ...next thing is to start to make the IRS set up , but i think i have my head around what i needa do now

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
so before xmas i bought a coupla glue bomb '36 fords from evil bay
the coupe will be kinda sedate , ill just put a 351 in it , sports air cleaner headers , only mods so far are ive narrowed the front wheels ( less dish ) and maybe ill make a custom grille , seeing i didnt get that part , colour is a "magenta" metallic i got as a miss tint can from local auto parts shop ( these are great , you get them cheap because theyre gonna throw them away , and 1 can should be enough to do a whole model , or 2 ) .
the roaster is now metallic black ( also a throw away can , and the metallic black from late model astras ) .... its inspired in part from Craig Palazzo's '34 Ford Roadster i seen in street machine many many years ago , when it was just built , but with my own tube chassis to make it look more "drag carish"
theres a bunch more parts ill need to get for it tho ( the pics only a mock up , and has progressed to having the floor in mostly , the firewall fixed and a bench seat that fits nicely being fixed for it )

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
hahahahaha , i was looking at yours and thinking how much it reminded me of and how cool itd be to see one in the aussie champ car races ( the little shrunken head cars with the bike engines ) ,
id near say game on , if i knew when i could get the wheels for it , the back of mines all sorted in the wheel arches , but the fronts all kinds of nope , need the wheels im gonna use to figure out the lay of the land with the brakes etc before i sort the wheel arches :S
(btw are those wheels on it after market or from a kit , theyre the exact ones i want for the '34 roadster )

The front "wires" were from Chuck Millers Fire Truck kit... I decided to use different wheels when I built the kit.
.
The rears were from Revells Street Rod kit , which is, as you know, is presently under "construction"...
Do have a pair of "Cragar" fronts if it helps you out my friend?

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
time o post some more pics since i took the camera out today
first up is a 69 yenko camaro , i took this on coz i cant bare projecty things getting thrown away ( bad habit lol ) , and my cousin was gonna chuck it out . it was a glue nuclear bomb , missing wheels , painted in cheap nail polish about 3 times , but the basic car was there , and the engine ( when/if i can find a pic of how i got it , ill edit it in the post )
this is some of where it is now
Sooo the idea here is to make it into a time attack , road racer thing . From the dim dark recesses of my brain a memory emerged that they were racing somewhere on a stretch of public road in the USA i believe , the coarse was fairly harsh but the cars were modified for it , any ways , with half a memory in mind i built ... a flat floor pan and large diffuser , updated suspension thanks to a 96 camaro ( kinda liked the cosmic vibe with that ha ) , massive roll cage/chassis , new hood so the air filter fits ( wish someone would sell aftermarket reverse cowlings in scale ) , and just spiff it up with a coupla big brake ducts etc . colour will eventally be orange .
so far the rear update is done , slowly working on getting the front ironed out and engine sitting right (using the original 427) , as well is getting the body schmooooove .

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
coupla random shots .
paint colour ( magetna ? ) for the 34 coupe
gotta save for a parts donor car for this i believe , but ive got other stuff to work on
the front half of the drift datsuns frame
needa do the engine mounts and suspension points still , ill do the mounts first , get the engine place sorted then get the interior done so the rest of the cage can be done , then the rear
aaaaand had a muck around with this painting it
it suffered a booboo at the hands of a guitar body unfortunately so i have to fix that , but i think i might turn it into a drag car eventually , because you dont see to many with fats n skinnies and grog sucking v8s sticking thru the bonnet

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
just a wee update , things have been slow lately due to various reasons i did get this the other day , and have had a play around
this is more showing what im gonna do to it , the fronts gotta come down another 2 or 3 mm , ill do that with some sanding of the springs , gonna transplant a v8 into it , and thats about all ive thought of other than putting the duellies back in

Re: Old Yellas Workshop
gidday every one , been a while since i posted any thing , so i thought id jump on . been a while since ive been at the desk due to life happenings , but the last coupla weeks ive had some time \o/ .
Bought another junk yard the other week and got a junker 40 pickup ( the same kit as deecee is working on ) and a 50 ford pickup , and some various random parts . the 50 will be put away , mostly because i have no ideas for it ( and have enough builds atm ) i was thinking maybe stallones truck from the expendables or maybe whack a dirty big supercharged hemi on the rear and make a wheelstander .
the 40 though , ill wait till ive got a photo editor back on my pc and made some actual progress before i say to much
been doing some detail painting to , seat belts and frames etc ....feels good to be back into it , so hopefully more posts wont be months apart again lol
( my pc had a meltdown the other week, and i havent got a photo editor , so ill put one on it over the weekend and post up some shots then )
