'51 CHEVY BEL AIR "Soft Top"
Another pre New years build, and guess what!... It's my FIRST Chevy!!!
I chose to build this one pretty much OTB but with a few custom twists of my own . So here goes. I wanted to retain the original grille so I added some flat styrene to front splash pan, gave that "rolled" look & cut out the shape to accommodate the original grille. Side body strips stayed & BMF'd after paint, but scraped away the bonnet strip, front & rear Chev badges. Bumpers were not required so both front & rear splash pans were filled & shaped. Filled in tail light cavities & "Frenched" in my own tail lights, then "frenched" in the headlights up front.
Converted to RH drive with triple gauge panel added to dash and sports steering wheel.
Engine is kit supplied "Stovebolt 6" but with custom goodies, wired up & "flexi" radiator hose. Kit supplied dual exhaust but I added the chrome extensions. Chev Camaro" rims painted & fitted with wider tyres, chrome rings & dome hub caps. Model painted "Chrystal Blue" Anchor Lacquer with "Cabothane" polyurethane clear.

That is one VERY VERY sweet mild custom Jerry. The paint looks flawless, and all those subtle changes
really work on it mate. Topped off with a beautiful 2 tone cream interior.............
Edit: ps, i love that back drop too...
