ANDRA Grand Final Adelaide International Raceway

With the looming change of an SA drag racing venue to the Tailem Bend motor sport park the possibly last drag event was held at A.I.R. over the weekend, the ANDRA Grand Final featuring all classes from Super Street right up to Top Fuel Dragsters.
A bunch of us boys went out for a lookie and to inhale some top fuel fumes and although racing was frequently delayed by Xmas tree issues and oil downs, it was a great day with the weather gods being kind and the people voted with there feet ... it was packed to eyeballs, great to see Drag racing is still alive!
During the breaks in the racing we went wandering around looking at the cars and taking pics, thought some of you guys might want to see some of it so here we go ......

Great pics , i was involved big time many years ago but sort of just lost interest . Thanks for the pics mate . Oh why didnt the guy in the barracuda put it the pit area ? very rare car to be sittin out side .

You should have seen the 1/2 inch thick layer of dust on it by the time we left!!! That's a crime

I love the fat ass on the VC, what i would give to run boots like that on the back of mine....

Man... seeing all that beautiful machinery, 'specially the early (as we called 'em back in the 70's)  'Falcoons', 'Munroes', 'T'runners &  of course those 'Valley Ants', brings a tear to the eye.  
These cars had their own unique style, charisma, character & were all in a class of their own. Jeez I miss those days!
