Linfox B Double
This started life as one (1) of five Caltex tankers;
" />
bit of a hiccup with paint on one B double set, so I went Linfox on this set.
" />
At the dertriment of the Caltex set, for some reason this set took precedence ?
" />
It was going to have a K100E under it, but the volvo had been sitting in the "to finish" pile. Why not ?....something to do.
" />
Painted, placards,
" />
Volvo, painted...Not happy with visor.
" />
Made the visor, did the signs etc for the volvo, had stencils cut for the "supply chain solutions"
" />
"Sacrificed " another volvo kit, to make the L/H mirror
" />
Friday?? (I think) is when it started.
And here it sits, glass to put in, clear coat to do, still a bit of detailing at tank discharge, and fire extinguishers, shitload of aerials, tank numbers, rego...yada yada
" />
" />
" />
" />
" />
S'pose I'll have to finish Caltex??
Tomorrow...busy, have to do the final post on Thursday, see if Caltex can be done by then.
Sick of tanks..!! But I've got something else; (circular) on the bench
Cheers,
Clea

These look great Clea, if I didn't know better I'd say these were factory kits, scratch building at it's best. What paint do you use and do you mix your own colours to match corporate liveries?

Re: Linfox B Double
Appreciate your comment AJ; but remember the barrel's , although heavily modified, are MPC milk tanker, the rest is all done..."in house".
I stick with duplicolour now for the majority of painting, have tried other acrylics....but have had trouble with consistency, so come back to Holts.
Automotive paint supplier in Mt Gambier is where I get paint mixed, he seems to have any colour you can name in his data base, just get the small pots 50ml (seem to last forever) all the Cat, Cummins and Detroit are the factory colours.
And still have/use Gunze and Tamiya,
Sharpie pens are good for fine detail, and colour fast.
Listen fella's.....When I see the standard of your work, I really appreciate your comments on what I do, you bolster my confidence, and it keeps me going, you blokes have set a high benchmark....just hope to get there someday.
Cheers,
Clea.

Your not talking about Ultrapaint Supplies in the Mount are you? He's a good friend of mine.
And as far as you getting to the benchmark set by those on the forum, Bull$#!t!.... You're already there!

Re: Linfox B Double
Also meant to say, I thought these were the PVC pipe tankers that you had made. Was gonna ask how you changed the shape of the pipe. But I was thinking of the Chemical tankers.

Re: Linfox B Double
G-Day Antwon if you want to make oval tanks jam a piece of timber in l use pine as it is a bit lighter my little 64 F600 water sprayer is 75mm PVC the wood pushed it out to 85 mm and the stock sheet ends and it's done Cheers
