48 Mercury ute

attempting to turn an old Jaymar 48 Ford ute into a Mercury, using Revells 48 Ford Woody as a donor, have had to make a few mods to the fiberglass body, this is where i am up to.

Looks good so far, The bit behind the cab should that be narrower or is it that wide.

the panel between the door and the rear mudgaurd is too short, but the wheel arches match the donor kit perfectly so if i correct the lenght of the panel then i also have to stretch the chassis, decided to live with it being a little short

This one was around here last year, thought I had photos of the rear but I don't inside the tray area was just checker plate steel.

Ok that jaymar resin is not the best thing to do any thing with, but it can turn out nice with a lot of work.

got the engine finished and fitted to the chassis, and got the shape of the front end roughed out, the whole body needs to be fine tuned but im getting there slowly

its been slow going with this one, trying to fix the problems with the body as well as changing the details to make it into a Mercury, lots of fiddily scratchbuilding but i am finally getting somewhere with it, got some color on it

got a bit more done on this one, interior is completed, made a tarp out of tissue paper, and made a grille from styrene (still needs to be chromed ) , foiled and cleared the body.
