Re: Lincoln Futura
the futura was used in a movie in 1959, and the pearl white paint did not photograph very well so it was repainted red, many concept cars were only built for showing of the latest gadgets to the public and often did not have an engine in them, this one however was a fully functioning car but as it was built for the shows and nothing else it did not get a Vin number, this meant that it could not be insured or registered, after its usefullness as a concept car was over it was of very little use to anyone, Ford offered the car to Goerge Barris for $1, Barris didnt know what to do with it either but couldnt turn it down for only $1 so it ended up in his garage untill a movie studio approached him and asked him to build a car for their upcoming TV series and he used this car to make the Batmobile.

Great work on both builds mate ! A man of many talents. 1:87 scale, are we talking HO scale as per model railways? Dad has done a couple for his layout and there is bucket loads of work involved What are the plans for the steamer when it is done?
