29 Ford Roadster - Dragster
I got four active builds on several forums - so I can't for the life of me remember if I ever posted this older build here.
With no paint booth inside, I've had down time waiting for warmer weather to paint the current projects outside....(the 32 chopped sedan was a real disaster painting enamel with lacquer thinner at 50 degrees F - I'm taking the orange peel off getting ready for another try).
So while waiting for better air temp/humidity conditions, I pulled this old build out of the stash.
If I find I already started a build thread for this one here .....I'll kill this one and update the other.
Anyway, I started this one years ago, after seeing some nice photos of the 22 Jr. Tony Nancy roadster/dragster from the fifties .
I got a Revell '32 highboy frame, located an AMT 1929 roadster body shell and had at it...seeing if I could get a clean fit with a little work.
The project got sidetracked when I started a scratch built SCOT blower, fashioned like the old Italmecannica.
The flathead block is a Replicas and Miniatures with resin head covers by Model Car Garage,
After hearing R & M was doing a resin SCOT blower this went to the back of the build stash...but I'm working it again, waiting for that better weather to get back on painting other stuff.

Re: 29 Ford Roadster - Dragster
Thanks guy.
Turned attention to the wheels. The early roadsters often used narrow period slicks and farm implement tires.
I found some nice narrow tires with spoked wheels in a '31 Ford kit.
I clipped off the protruding spokes from the front wheels and cut salt flat style discs from Evergreen sheet plastic, trimmed the edges.
Got a Halibrand rear axle from the Revell Attempt 1. (Yes...it's upside down in the picture LOL).

Going great guns!... attended a Perth Modeler's Club last night.. and there is an up and coming modeler's show coming up, open to all clubs, model enthusiasts and general public. Will be run over the course of the weekend and the main theme is ......
"American Graffiti" ... all the cars, buildings and scenery's will be on display in 1/25th scale!... right down to the inverted "55 Chevy
wreck. I will get as many photos as I can guys and post them for your interest. Especially for you Jim...
