'62 FALCON STOCK CAR
Decided to build another "Stocky" to build up my Speedway collection. Started with a resin body shell and rims (from AAA Resin Models).
Cut away bonnet (as I didn't want to build it "Curbside"). Floor pan/chassis is from an AMT '57 'T' Bird kit, lengthened and modified to fit body shell.
Found a small block (289) V8 Ford engine to suit. Fitted the radiator into the rear of the car.
Scratch built Roll cage and instrument panel. Put a few "Dents" into the body work. The car so far....

Now that's cool.
Back in the 70's they race a couple of them at Heddon Greta speedway here in the Hunter Valley.

Re: '62 FALCON STOCK CAR
Sadly the speedway is no longer there, There is lots of houses built on the area.
My brother-in-law and his brother drove Valiant's there, R and S series and AP5's.
Best race was when they run a figure 8, boy you see some great crash's

Re: '62 FALCON STOCK CAR
Yeh same here!... we had 3 local Speedway tracks (Forrestfield, Wattle Grove & Bibra Lake) we could ride our "pushies" to as kids, and the Friday night big track at Claremont. Sadly all gone now to redevelopment. We do have the Kwinana Motorplex, but very expensive to get in.
