My Revell 30 Sedan
I spent many hours restoring this old Revell kit and then a few weeks later, Revell announces a re-release!
Anyway it doesn't matter
I used the front suspension from a Revell 32 kit along with a quickchange from my parts box.
Wheels are AMT chrome steelies/baby Moon cap wheels with the centres painted. Body is Testors yellow, white interior and red wheels. Tires are done with a circle template to do the wide whites
Engine is from the Revell 48 Ford kits.
Chris

Re: My Revell 30 Sedan
Beautiful model Chris. I love the colour, wheels, engine...everything!
I have one of these on my bench at the moment too - hope it comes out half as nice as yours!

Top class as always Chris.
Yellow and white work perfectly together and the flatty will get it down the road better than the old banger.

Re: My Revell 30 Sedan
Hey Chris - I have a question:
What makes this a '30 sedan? Is there any difference between the '30 & '31 A bones?

Most visible/obvious difference is that '31 models had a black insert panel in the top and bottom of the radiator shell, whereas it was only in the bottom of the '30 models. There's also a bunch of other minor detail variations all over the car

The differences are fairly minor. Bodies were common to both years. The most obvious difference is the radiator surround treatment.
1930 Fords had a Stainless all polished surround as in the kit whereas the 31 had the recessed section at the top and bottom of the surround painted in body colour or black - The kit radiator surround is a 31 model but by leaving it unpainted it is close enough to the non recessed 30 model.
The other difference is in the valance panel treatment. Very early 1930's had a 2 pce valance panel but late 30's and 31's had a single panel like the early A's
In reality, by the time it got to late 1930 and into 1931 it became difficult to tell them apart as the concept of deluxe vs standard vs commercial along with dealer accessories made it increasingly difficult.
Are you confused yet - I could go on & on & on ................but I won't
