Forgotten Dreams HQ Holden Panelvan.
Here's a HQ van i've been working on, it's still not finished but its at a presentable stage which still looks sort of ok. I want to finish of the rest of the details in the next few months.
The base is an old picture frame, the tree is something Brett donated to me it comes as a kit with 2 other trees and a base(used the wargaming?). The body is one Chris cast and it come out of the mould bodgy and full of air bubbles so he donated it to me.
The seats I cast in resin, same as the engine and rocks and I also used a heap of other spares I had lying around aswell as some detail master bits.
The basic story is that at some point it was a loved van and got a nice respray(tailgate mural included!), interior trim and chev transplant. But as the years past and the van craze died the van got passed from owner to owner. Somebody crashed it and fixed it with a Belmont guard(no GTS flutes, but a coat hanger aerial!) and a single headlight nosecone, just to keep it on the road than eventually it got parked up in a paddock. While sitting there unloved some low life stole the wheels, bonnet, carby, aircleaner and waterpump. The local kids rocked the windscreen and the LH window fell out of its runner. The hoodlining's torn and sagging and the seats have duct tape holding the rips together. It's just waiting for someone to love it again and bring it back to its former glory.
Hope you like it.
Cheers Rob

Nice one Rob, Good enough to restore, pretty straight, How's the floor pan for rust, I can imagine sitting on it's belly is not good
still got good head lights and I'm surprised the plates are still there,
what about the I.D tags, are they still there,

Floors are surprisingly good, if you look close at the photos you can see the compliance plates! Better have a look at them it might be a geniune HQ Sandman!Shoey wrote:Nice one Rob, Good enough to restore, pretty straight, How's the floor pan for rust, I can imagine sitting on it's belly is not good

This was my first attempt at a weathered rusty car and diorama, the other idea was to see if I could build a complete vehicle using just parts that Shoey and me cast in resin. Bit of a challenge for me, but MacGyver Shoey could build a car out of 10 plastic bread bag ties and some bluetak!

Thanks Col, I've got a mountain of more stuff to add to it yet including tail pipes, tailgate hinges and supports, battery, more/better wiring, cans, stick books, alternator, curtains and lots more bits and pieces to finish it off a bit better. Thanks for the positive comments guys.HOT EH wrote:yeh looks better in person/had me fooled thought it was 99.9 pussent finished. cheers colin
