Scratchbuilt Car Trailer Empty Scratchbuilt Car Trailer

Post by Nighthoon Tue 31 May 2011, 4:28 pm

hello again guys tis hoon here thought id have a go at scratch building a car trailer with the spare time on my hands i sat down and did some research...yes i researched this one... found a few trailers i liked and drew up a template based on a "guesstamate" basically the length was established by sitting a piece of paper behind a model car to establish how long it should be i came out with 30cm long and 10 cm wide took me one day to build this so its still a little rough used plasticard and evergreen to make the frame work up and axles and lasercut pine strips "donated from my bismarck model" to make the floorpan but they will maybe possibly be replaced with checker plate plasticard. all in all it turned out pretty good i even made a jockey wheel up for it and i just have to make up some ramps that will go under the rear of the trailer and then do the lightboard.

A very nice build. Don't often see any trailers let alone a tandem. Are you able to make your pictures a bit larger? There's so much detail there it would be nice to see it all.

bigthumbsup

That's pretty sweet, larger pix would be cool to see too!!

800x600 works best for me here.

Looks really good so far.

I built myself a very basic one recently. I should say building as it isn't really finished yet. Your's looks a s*** load better than mine, and has given me some ideas too.
