The 1989 issue of Hot Rod magazine featured this car. I no longer have the copy but I did record the issue date.

Thank's for that Tezza43,look's like the chevy is metallic red with gold flake in it or a candy red over gold.

Would you believe that is a 1/64th Hot Wheels legends car? I don't know the colour it is but it is definately a solid red though.

Rayman the body on the chevy is molded in red there is lines in it so I will be putting grey primer on it then a coat of red,the colour I will be using is called Fine Red look's like coca cola red it look's close to the molded colour.Did not know that yours was 1/64 scale

Cool Allan, I got one too. Also got the Super Stock and Drag Illustrated magazine with a feature about it in it. will try and remember to scan it for you in the next day or two.

Ah checkmate the mongoose is on the decal sheet that I have,I think the kit I have it the first one that came out kit number is 7172.

justed put some grey primer on body,boy did the red bleed through end up with 3 heavy coats still got bleed through will wait untill primer hardens light sand back then reprimer it.

Ya checkmate,sould of used dark grey primer ,once I sand it back a bit will get some dark grey reprimer it,had it happen years ago put white primer on red body it bleed through,reprimered it in dark grey that painted it white have had no problem with it.

Maybe in Japan, Sizzlers is bad for your health?
It's not on Rayman's model either, but it is shown on the diecast model publicity shot (the Mongoose)???

I also built this years ago. I hand paint stripes (really really badly) to make it look like the Victor Bray Castrol Funny car. And like Chevyfan, mine is covered with dust and i would love to re-do mine as well.
