Diamond T road train
This will be based on a photo I saw in a book from the library 'Roadtrains of the Northern Territory" A Diamond T prime mover and 5 trailers.
Anyway the Diamond T arrived the other day from the States. Trailers will be scratchbuilt. As my other road train is taking a bit of time this will be started as well. As usual for me 1/87

Re: Diamond T road train
1:87 scale - how can you see it? Amazing detail for such a small kit. Is this related to model railway HO scale? I'm looking forward to seeing this completed.

Re: Diamond T road train
Yes HO scale in the model railway world. I am hoping to get this one started within the next day or so and some work on my Kenworth road train as well. I discovered even though my primary interest in this scale is the trains, I really enjoy building the road vehicles as well.

Re: Diamond T road train
Made a small start today, just came off the midnight - 8 shifts so didn't feel like doing too much. Cab is not yet permanently attached, still a bit of work to do on the chassis.
With a bit of luck the finished product will look something like this

Re: Diamond T road train
I have enough spare wheels to make 6 trailers all single rear axle. 99% sure though will go with 5 trailers like the picture in the book with one dual rear axle trailer. Have the book out from the library again at the moment. Not a bad read.

Re: Diamond T road train
Made some small progress today. Still a lot to go. Unfortunately we are very short staffed at work at the moment so progress has slowed considerably.

Re: Diamond T road train
Bit of a hold up on this one now, decided I didn't like the colour so pulled it apart and stripped the paint. Hopefully get back into it other the next couple of days.
