69' Plymouth GTX
Hey Guys,
Have had a case of the CBF's of late, lots of work to do around the house, some renovations in the planning and now doing stage, a new (second hand) car to detail up to my expectations, a bit of a stressful time at work with people away, so you come home and just can't be bothered.
Have spent a few nights in the model room contemplating "what next?" FINALLY! i've decided to do a Pro-Touring version of the 69' plymouth GTX.
Will be running a twin turbo HEMI,slightly channeled chassis with possibly Pegasus Hollis wheels, as for any more details, i'm not real sure till i get a good start and the
creative juices start to flow, then i'll just go with it.
Hopefully the inspiration to build kicks in and im back at the bench a bit more often again.

not that it matters, should be nice either way.

Just Razzin ya Deecee, all good. Man, ya got it looking good so far. I'm not usually a fan of the big 300 inch rims, bit dam, they really suit the shape of the GTX. Colours?

Haha, always good for a razz mate, personally if i did have this t-shirt, do really think i would admit to it??( i'm not that old either). not real sure on colours as yet mate, bit of a ways to go before that aswell,RetrospectKustoms wrote:Just Razzin ya Deecee, all good. I have only ever come across 23" hollis rims, so thats what they are, but i have narrowed the fronts by about half, would love to find some 19" pegasus wheels so i could have "big n littles".Kane wrote:Have you used 19 or 23's for the front wheels, just curious that's all?

Turbo set up will be much the same as my 2008/9 challenger, that turned out pretty tuff in my opinion.
looking forward to getting back into this, had a little distraction this week-end, had a hole in my house that needed filling!!
keep ya'll posted, i've got the model bug back!!

Re: 67' Plymouth GTX * TURBO UPDATE*
Hey that hole looks big enough to be able to drive the VC right into the house!!
I built this kit years ago, I painted it Tamiya "lavender" out of the Tamiya spray packs, with colour coded bumpers. It looks really good, the colour suits the shape well.

Re: 67' Plymouth GTX * TURBO UPDATE*
Yes mate , it was tempting, but the council would not approve another driveway, so it stays a lounge room, i used to envy a fella called Dan Tanner, he used to drive his T-Bird into his lounge room on some Vegas cop show, how awsome i used to think, Lavender / purple, my favourite colours, already done a purple one though,RetrospectKustoms wrote:Hey that hole looks big enough to be able to drive the VC right into the house!!

Re: 67' Plymouth GTX * TURBO UPDATE*
Since this thing is gonna be such an animal under the bonnet, how about a really "average" colour, say a mist blue mettalic or a pastel green or something, you know those real 60's car colours. Maybe a black or tan vinyl roof even??

Re: 67' Plymouth GTX * TURBO UPDATE*
NOOOO!! No vinyl roof, and have already done the pastel green"tuff street" thing, but thanks for the ideas,RetrospectKustoms wrote:Since this thing is gonna be such an animal under the bonnet, how about a really "average" colour, say a mist blue mettalic or a pastel green or something, you know those real 60's car colours. , have decided on Jet Black with some red stripes of some sorts, have narrowed the diff, built a 4 link rear end, got rid of the leaf spring set-up, have done the
induction set-up aswell and wired the HEMI, next job is to design the turbos,
supposed to rain tomorrow, so that might get me out of the "renovation mode", and do something important like MODELING!!
