Wow, what a cool build. I love it. Especially the engine is a piece of cake. Is it the Allison from AMT or did you take it from a plane kit?
Cheers

Re: Alison powered ETCO 1 Salt lake racer
Guy this is a magnificent build, and that engine is awesome (I don't use that word very often)!
I love the Allison, very well detailed. I have one and a Merlin waiting to go into future projects......sometime in the not so near future LOL.
Tell me about the magnetos...... are these engines twin plug? It looks like there are 12 spark leads coming off each magneto?
These pics have gone straight into my library.............very inspirational mate.
Well done
Cheers Tim

Re: Alison powered ETCO 1 Salt lake racer
You can see why I love building the salt racers. There is so much scope for your imagination & still build something that looks like it will go fast for real. Great job mate !!

Re: Alison powered ETCO 1 Salt lake racer
The motor is from the AMT parts pack from the late 90's
Tim in the research I did these engines are 2 spark plugs per cylinder one each side of the head. This engine is based on a German truck pulling tracker with 3 of these beauties I add a cidwaterman fuel pump Mallory mags and fuel injection

What a kick arse Lakester!
Gunna be a bitch to see where ya headed tho.
Waaay too much detailing on that engine, you must have glasses like the bottoms of coke bottles and if not you soon will have.
