Re: '63 Custom Vette
Ok, my regular Sunday night update.............
Only a little done on the interior, adding the piping is a pain! Dash detail is still not complete either.
On a better note, I got some primer and silver base coat on the body and it's so good so far.
Oh yeah I was lucky enough to have a member of another forum offer some correct M/T Radir wheels, so they are now reworked and fitting along with the wheel backs.
That's it for this week.

Re: '63 Custom Vette
I've seen this project elsewhere and it's a stunner. I meant to ask, where did the lovely shorty injector stacks come from?

Cheers guys, I'm getting into it, now that the painting has started, got the painting bug.
Bernard, the trumpets I made myself from K&S Aluminium tube.
I must say though, I'm now not too happy with the piping, it's too big, but it's too late to change it, too bad it's gonna stay as is ......

Ok, my weekly update....
Got the first coat of colour on, I recon a couple more to go then the clear;
The interior is all but done, door handles and indicator stalk left to do;
wheels are together too;
Cheers for now TJ

Re: '63 Custom Vette
That is coming together nicely. What did you use for the piping on the seats and panels?

Re: '63 Custom Vette
Thanks guys,
mgy125, it's 0.46mm nickle plated copper jewelery wire that I bent to shape first then painted blue and finally fitted after the white went on. Next time I'm going to use even smaller wire, I think this stuff is a tad too big.

Sat morn update...not so good news
Ok an early update this week due to a stuff up. Got the first colour coat wet sanded and a second coat of blue laid down last night...Good news; great gloss finish off the gun, Not so good news; the metallic has lines in it on the roof!!
My bro aka "Antwon" has advised me to use a smaller gun for the last coat. I used a 0.5mm for these two coats and so I'll try the 0.2mm on the last colour coat. If it comes out as glossy as this coat I might not even put any clear on it, what you guys think? Teej
And, Yes the sun is out in Adelaide, Woo Hoo.....might even get some work done on the 1:1 car too this weekend

Re: '63 Custom Vette
Looking good I found the best way to stop getting lines in metallic paint is to open up the tip more and move away from the body a bit more works for me
