Here's whats been keeping me busy lately. Balsa wood is my new favorite thing. Havent decided on front suspension yet, but the back is single leaf setup

is that gunna b a straight 8 or a 12 ?

Looks good slowly.  That looks like two 4 bangers which would make it a straight 8 in my book.

Ta guys Yup thats two 4bangers... haiving trouble finding good reference pics of custom done ones, the intake and exhaust setup is confusing me!

Tack 'em together and put a pic up here and we'll soon tell you if you're headed in the right direction...

Its making my head hurt, the intake has the carby below the exhaust, want to make a custom one with all the intake ports one piece and same with the exhaust... suggestions?

try looking for pics of a buick straight 8 (@1950) this would give u some idea of how the manifolds go on a straight 8

That's right Slowly.  It's called an updraft carburettor.
The stock 4 banger is a flathead engine with cylinders 1&2 and 3&4 having siamesed intake ports (one hole connects to two cylinders).

Here's one with a twin updraft carb manifold (thoughtfully colour coded pink).


Here's a single downdraft carb manifold.  You could easilly modify your kit manifolds into something like this by cutting the carb and vertical tube off and gluing it back on the top.
