Bugatti Napoleon Coupe
Hi guys, finally have this one done. I was given this kit in the eighties so it was probably overdue for doing.
This was the first time I'd painted with nail polish and was happy with how it went. Clear coated with nail polish clear. Tried polishing a small section with car polish but it didn't seem to make a difference but did only go gently.
Used BMF around the running boards without too much trouble, the remaining chrome work is as it came in the box. The only trouble I had with it was when I put the lenses in the headlights. I used a small dab of clear coat to glue it in which it did but it also highlighted cracking in the chrome inside the headlight. I don't think I used too much but it had been thinned so perhaps the thinners?
As the bonnet doesn't open I didn't do anything extra there but did add a bit of colour and bling underneath.
The exhaust is done in Alclad stainless steel. All the interior painting was done with Humbrol enamels
.
The windows in the roof come as a one piece bit and had a slight warp. I used a clear drying contact glue here which also worked ok but I couldn't find a way of clamping the glazing in place tight enough to get the twist out while using small amounts of glue. The blurry edge you can see in the pic is where the plastic curves down under the metal section.
Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy it. Cheers .

Very nice Ray, neat work
Like the colours and the chrome trim, it's very easy to stuff up but you've nailed it
