Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
This is the Tamiya kit which I got off of Evil-Bay a few years back complete with a load of additional photoetch.
The engine is mostly moulded into the body but looks OK with some detail painting and washes.
Other than the PE it's completely box stock.
Paint is all from Zero Paints. Red & Yellow Candy over White Pearl with 2 pack clear.

Very nice. I love the quote. The R32 was a beast. The R35 is just awesome.

Nice build, I like it all including JR. I'd be happy with a real one in the garage.

Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
The engine is in fact moulded into the body. There are a few parts that go on top of it but that's all paint detailing, washes and carefull selection of the photos I posted.

Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
Those look great.
Terry has kindly offered me a set of the decals from his stash to do the real '92 car so that's on the future build list. Which kit did you use?

Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
No. I thought about printing a blue Nissan for over the rear wheel but decided not to bother given the lack of space on my version.

Zero paints two pack clear. If I can get it like that anyone can. It's that good.

Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
Zen are you using any thinner with the Zero stuff or do they just spray out the jar?

Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
The paint sprays straight out the jar - it's pre thinned for air-brushing.
The 2 pack you have to measure out and mix 3 different parts in 3 different amounts - lacquer, hardener and thinners.

Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
white was a street nissan, the red was a group N Calsonic. i'd recommend the Group N. it has the gutted interior, slicks and racing parts. it's by Tamiya.zenrat wrote: Which kit did you use?
Re: Jim Richards inspired R35 GT-R
