Future floor polish
Thought you guys might wanna check this out as i got this link a fair while back but have never have seen this stuff anywhere until a few weeks back, when I found Pledge ONE GO which is near the same as Future. So far I've tried it via a Brush and it seems to work quite well and I'm keen to try it via the airbrush, lots of uses an at less than $6 for 500ml it's a bargain.

Although it does not like Tamiya acrylics
Goes over decals well too

Re: Future floor polish
It's good stuff isn't it.
I've used it for pretty much every build i've posted here.
And i'm still on the same bottle.
I pour it out of and back into the bottle through rags to filter out any bits.
I generally paint and polish the body and bonnet, foil it, do one coat of One Go (big soft brush), do any decaling and then do another coat of one go (again with brush). I then assemble the kit, wax it and then last of all do the panel lines (excess wipes off easier from waxed paint and it disguises any wax left in the panel gaps).
It does hate Tamiya Acrylic but if you're carefull you might get One Go to go on over the top if you don't brush it out over the acrylic. Acrylic painted onto One Go = a mess.
And, if you want to strip the One Go you can use Windex and it'll not affect the paint (allegedly - i've never had to do it myself).
Look here for hints & tips on using Future (One Go).

I do the body after foiling and decals, and any chrome bits like bumpers and lights. So basically the completed body gets done before assembly.
Just do what you would normally do with clear coats, what ever way you like to build.

Re: Future floor polish
It is designed to "self level" on floors so as long as you don't go over a too dry patch it flows out beautifully. The brush is really only there to transfer it and help it flow. I slather it on, let it run down to the bottom and then wick it off with a dried brush.

I just wax it.
I have polished it but it is very easy to burn right through.

Re: Future floor polish
I've used it over enamel, car paint and tamiya spray paints with no problems.
However, the one time it caused me grief was over brushed on Tamiya acrylic. Probably because One-Go (Future) is itself acrylic.
That's why Purple Myrtle ended up with a flocked sun roof!

Re: Future floor polish
It's been suggested somewhere (possibly higher up this thread) that the best result is achieved by dipping the entire body onto a tupperware of the stuff and then wicking off the excess as it runs down and collects at the bottom.
Sitting a body in a tupperware and pouring One-Go over it directly from the bottle might also work.
I have a GTO body i'm going to spray in enamel (so can't use my acrylic automotive clear) which I may try the pouring method on...

Re: Future floor polish
People are reporting issues painting One-Go over Tamiya Acrylics but I have been doing this for a while and not had any issues.
I do let the Acrylic paint dry for at least 24 hours before usung One Go - maybe thats the key.
Also sometimes I spray Tamiya X-22 Clear Acrylic first then use One-Go but this has not made any difference to the outcome that I can see.
The Guys at www.Promodellers.com.uk talk about using Future over Tamiya Acrylic all the time - never seen an issue with this spoken about in the forums.
What problems have people been having?

Re: Future floor polish
Bit of a catch up needed here.
Pouring One-Go over a body worked fine. Except it washed off pin stripe decals although that was probably the fault of the aftermarket decals rather then the polish.
Problems with One-Go over Tamiya acrylic was with brushed on acrylic not sprayed. It wrinkled badly. Probably due to not being dry long enough. Possibly would need more than 24 hours if brushed on as it'll be thicker than a spray job.
Mutley - no need to rely on inported Future. One-Go is exactly the same stuff and is availible in Australian Supermarkets.
I can also now confirm that Windex will remove the stuff without damaging paint. I had a slight chip, dust & fingerprint problem over the weekend (yes, I dropped the GNX body) and stripped a 3 layer One-Go job off in about 20 minutes. I sat the body in a tupperware and sprayed on Windex. Left it, sprayed more. Left it, sprayed more. Sloshed the body around a bit in what was in the bottom of the tupperware. Rubbed at it with my finger to check it was all off and then washed it in washing up liquid & warm water.
It's as though the One-Go was never there and once the touch up on the chip is rubbed back it'll be ready to re-coat.
