B Model Mack Empty B Model Mack

Post by Tony Sun 18 Jan 2009, 9:14 am

I built this B model last year and I have dedicated to my dad who passed away at xmas as he was an old bulldog driver.

The body and chassis is resin that is cast by a mate of mine, the sleeper I scratch built but I used the door's from the diamond reo kit and the door hands are made as well.

I painted it in inferno red and the stripe is gold yellow and the white pin striping is from PW decals, the aircon unit, stone guard and battery box have been scratch built as well and so has the air filter assembly.

The fuel tanks are from the mack R685st kit as are the wheels the air horns and rear veiw mirrors are from my parts box.

The trailer is the old amt frehauf that I have had since the 70's and decided to build it for this mack,I scratch built the storage lockers and door locks and the tyre rack and third axle was scratch built as well.

Cheers Tony

I am extending our sincere sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. I hope he had time to see you build the B Model Mack that you so rightfully dedicated to him. I was close to my Dad , so I feel for you . And the B61 Mack looks awesome as well !

Allan and Ron thankyou guy's for your sympathy,my Father passed away with dementia but when I first started on it he could still understand what I was building and would sit there and watch me but in the last 4 months before he passed away he did not know what was going on anymore let alone that I built this for him in the end.

Regards Tony.
