Another '41 Plymouth.
So, what to do to keep up with Artus after the Hot Rod show? Why start another project of course, but what will I build?
Sitting in my pondering chair looking over the kit stock, the voices in my head said, "41 Plymouth." So I opened the box to take a closer look at what has to be one of the late forties less attractive cars.
Since I love a challenge, out came the razor saw and before I knew it the top was gone. That's a good start but I was thinking 'Valley Kustom', soooo.........
Headlamps are from the AMT '50 Ford convert and the front bumper is AMT '49 Merc.
After slicing a section of round tube in half, adding some sheet styrene plus a little filing to fit and some filler, we have fadeaway fenders.
The rear bumper is also from the AMT '49 Merc and since the Merc tailamps are a perfect fit to the recontoured rear fenders, I think I'll use them too.
The front and middle section of the roof is original Plymouth 'metal' The rear portion is the back part of the 'Revelogram '48 Ford convert's shopped Carson style top, narrowed and reshaped to fit.
Still a long way to go, but this all came together today, so it may or may not be another fast build.

Re: Another '41 Plymouth.
Dat be da plan boys. Getting ahead of myself as usual, I just mixed the leftover Honduras Marron from the Kustom '36 coupe with some gold flake and magenta pearl. Depending what it looks like on the car, I might mix a lttle red pearl into the clearcoat, but there's a heap of body work to finish before then,

Re: Another '41 Plymouth.
Been away since last Sunday morning so it should be OK to finish this weekend.Just hope the paint hasn't attacked the filler and created unwanted ripples like the first coat did.
