rusty pete ..
i love going into work ...
the other week one of the guys comes up and says ...
' i was cleaning out the cupboard at home the other night and found this ... '
presenting a sweet looking '32 lowboy
' ... you think you can do something with it .. ? '
' ... i started it about 10 years ago ' he says .
then i notice that it's actually an extensively worked revell '32 3window !
" i'll give it a go pete .. sweet work ! "
this is how it looks after i ..
changed the rims and tyres from the standard issue revell's
grafted a new grill shell to the hood replacing a sloping one
levelled out the hood sides to the same height
made a support to keep the body level and fastened to the chassis
filled in the gap between the interior and the body sides with evergreen
filled in the enlarged rear wheel house openings with evergreen
drilled and ported the three outlets on the hood ...
plus how much pete had changed it from the 3window .

Re: rusty pete ..
now i have been itching to use that ' rusting ' stuff for ages .
just couldn't quite get it onto the plastic though ....
so this was going to be the one !
painted it tamiya hull red and started the dabbing process .
well it's a start atleast ....
although i thought it was going to be a bit more dramatic !
looking back at paul's rusty builds ... other rusty plastic ...
maybe it needs a bit more ..?

Re: rusty pete ..
since the rust set in ! .....
the wheels and interior have been ' grimed and grubbied ' up a little
the front mechanicals have been added
the chassis now sits 6mm lower @ the rear to level it to the ground
the body raised 2mm on the chassis @ the rear to give it a little rake
the plan was to keep it a real simple slammer but now it has an engine and drive shaft .. which you can see if you lay your head down on the table !
now i'll have to add an exhaust .. !
hey paul , must have gone to the same speed shop for that gear shift ...
and .... back to the weathering !
