comp is best pre-49 and best post-49.prizes to be anounced.
BMTCC AUSMODULES
The rules are as follows.
1. The base of the individual displays are to be 12 mm (1/2 inch) thick - MDF, Particle Board or Plywood. The Bases will measure 200 mm x 300 mm. This must be strictly adhered to so that the display will go together. Don’t try to cheat an extra few millimetres - it will only cause it overflow the Display.
2. All models are to be 1/24 or 1/25 scale, and this size will fit everything up to a ‘59 Caddy, so there shouldn’t be any real problems there. If you are going to display a truck you will need to organise two bases put together on the layout.
3. Absolutely nothing is to protrude from the bottom of the base, or along the edges of the board. Everything must be contained within the 200 mm x 300 mm perimeter.
4. Paint all surfaces, top bottom and edges This is for uniformity and to seal the surfaces to avoid warping from contact with moisture. The top of your display can then be painted or covered in whatever colour or material you like. Do not wrap fabric over the sides of the base – this will make the board oversize and it wont fit!! Write your name and contact details on the bottom in white for easy identification (there's always one guy that doesn’t get back at the end of the day to pick up his model!
5. Build your diorama. The possibilities for a car show display are endless. If you want powered accessories, they must be housed within the thickness of the timber (you would have to hollow out the necessary area), and be battery operated and firmly sealed in place. You won’t be able to service it once the display is in place.
6. Do not use a wall behind your display unless you have negotiated it with the organiser.
any question post here or pm me.
