HQ Monaro -Tuff Street 15nov08021

I started this one a few years ago and put it on the backburner, but now its at the front of the Q.
I did buy this one from Shoey, but had't decided onwhether to build stock as my 1st 1:1 Monaro GTS or build as a drag race car. So now I,ve decided to go Tuff Street ; a sort of in -between street and drag car.
So here we go!

Cheers Ron

The chassis and interior came from the '68 Pontiac GTO in1/24 scale. I beleive , I think Revell has re-released this kit recently. I had to trim a bit of rear inner guards , rear floorpan and front frame horns to get chassis to fit HQ body. Interior fitted without any alteration, so far. I'll see how HQ dash will go.

Been doing a bit of Dr. Dremel surgery inside of body shell to allow the fitment of the Chevelle Pro Street Tubs. And the tubs have been grafted onto the chassis. Engine is going to be 454 Big Block ;In real life it could be 500+ cubes. I,m thinking of Tunnel Ram , with dual 4barrels , if I find the right combination. More updates when it progresses a bit more.

Cheers Ron.

Sturg I bought a set of Convo Pro's with tyres from The Parts Box earlier this year , just for this project specifically. Part of the plan, you see! Gotta a fair bit of work to do on it now. Updates later.

Still a fair bit of work on this , on and off , particullarly the chassis . It was painted , but the purple paint "bubbled up" , sprayed erraticly from the spraycan , so had to dip it in the brake fluid trick and start again.

Another coat of paint then the suspension and Wheels can go on. Been gathering parts for engine so I can start on next.
