'67 Chevelle
This is the second part to my "Beach Build." The first one is my "64 Chevy surf truck" and this Chevelle is his girlfriends car.
Imagine a 20 something year old blonde beach babe who has a passion for classic muscle cars and the ocean. She's always ready to hustle the boys, out on the waves and on the Hi-way.
I added some BMF, Ivory flocking and green interior pipeing.
Colour is Translucent Pink/Gold.
Hope you all enjoy!

Man that is one killer shine you got happening Joe, love the rest of it too. Never mind the chickies, I'd be happy to drive that around. I think you need to do a full on show car next time (as a 1:1 show car I mean), fully detailed and smoothed underneath and a killer paint job like this one. Good job.

Nice work Clutch! Love the body colour mate. The colours all go well together and looks clean and shiney! The green piping on the interior sets it off too. Did I say loooove the body colour????

Re: '67 Chevelle
Thanks sooo much guys, glad you all like it!!!
Bear, the first photo I used an attachment cross lens, it captures the glare and turns it into a cross. Works great when taking sunset photo's.
Bones, base coats are white, pink and gold. You'd never believe the paints used on this build,
In order, -Aussie export white
-Powerplus Gold
-Tamiya pink
-Tamiya translucent pink/gold
-Aussie export clear
-Tamiya clear
although most of the Aussie X clear was sanded back.
Thanks again for the comments fella's

Hey Joe, what is your secret to keeping the crap out of your paint? And do you use rattle can or airbrush?

Re: '67 Chevelle
Luke,
Camera's a Fujifilm S5800, great features, good price. Has 2 macro settings, Macro and super macro, Basicly I can take a photo as close as 1mm. But the screw on lens I used to take the first pic is from 1968! It's called a "cross hatch" lens my Dad used to use it.
Kirk,
What's my secret?? Dumb arse luck I guess..
I use rattle cans. The only things I can think of is I warm the paint in hot water and I also warm the body using a hair dryer followed by light mist coats and a long dry time between coats. I also like to scrub with toothpaste between each coat.
Thanks again guys for your interest.

Re: '67 Chevelle
Thanks Michael and Brian!!
To fight against cavaties and bad breath
You guy's haven't heard about toothpaste??
Toothpaste is a poor mans abrasive compound, it gets rid of any surface fuzz or any dust/fluff anything that may have landed during painting. Plus a fantastic clean! Follow with a good rinse until you can no longer smell the minty fresh.
After sanding back the guide coat I give the body about a 10 minute scrub with an old toothbrush and paste, it cleans up any lettering or other hard to sand areas. Then about a 2minute srub after the undercoat and the topcoat.
Hope that makes sense..
