Re: FJ HOLDEN
I do still own mine!
Purchased new in '1955, I was driven to my first day of school in it, learned to drive in it, used it as a paddock bomb and later put it back on the road as my daily driver. If it could talk, the stories it would tell.
1969
1972
1973
Today
When I eventually get 'round to building the model, it'll be a serious kustom. That way I might be able to live with it without doing a bunch of work to fix the annoying wheelarches. Considering how good the rest is, I could never understand how they got that part so wrong.

Awesome pics Carps - if only to see you as a young hot rod hooligan! Were you born with a beard? LOL
Got any more old car pics? I sure would love to see them.
Are you gonna bring that cool FJ down to the island in January?

Re: FJ HOLDEN
Yes,
Yes,
and Yes.
Allan the Ford is a 1933 model, much better looking than a '34.

Re: FJ HOLDEN
thanks slowlylearing and boothy, happy with the out come of the colour this time around, Ya boothy have changed my mind on a lot of colours on builds with wheels there is not a lot of room to put wide wheels under it as it has a large flat floor pan. the FJ is a curbside.

Re: FJ HOLDEN
Ya beat me to it Allan.
The Parts Box caps are a neat fit inside AMT steelies, which take a few different tyres, but maybe The Partsbox can supply as wheels, caps, tyres all ready to slide under.
The caps were originally found on mid fifties Dodge Lancer and Royal Lancer models, hence they are known by 1/1 enthusiasts simply as 'Lancers'.
Mine are aftermarket repros as the originals are 15" and my humpy has 14s

Re: FJ HOLDEN
the paint work on this cracked the same as the 57 chevy nomad but not as bad ,was able to sand the cracks out of it,repainted it gloss black, but to my shock me did not clean the airbrush very well some flat aluminum paint was still in the nozzle ended up with a metalic black colour so after it dried I looked at it and said Oh well good stuff up so put some clear red on top of it,got the best metalic red paint that I have ever seen here is photo in sunlight.not bad
