Hi, I am building a diorama which includes a park for a show n shine display and in the park is a 10ft scale model statue of George Barris and I want to make look like a bronze statue. I thought that I would paint it a bronze colour (good start, I hear you say) and to make it look old and tarnished, I though painted dark green or kahki (sp) and lightly sanded so that just a small amount of bronze shows in various places. Then a clear gloss also lightly sanded. Maybe some white pigeon shit on the shoulder. Any one have ideas on the tarnished bronze look please.. No comments needed on what else to do with Mr BARRIS
Cheers

Try some dry brushing. Humbrol enamels work best. Work out what colours you need then mix up a dark one for your base coat and paint the whole figure. Then mix up a lighter version of the same colour and dry brush it all over to bring out the detail. Then clear coat to blend it all in.

Check this out Rod
I've never used it but it looks like it would save you some time - cheap to by the look of it!

Chris, got some of that faux bronze and when you follow the instructions my resin statue looks a dead ringer for old weathered bronze statue. If any one else wants to try, let me know and I will post it on.
Cheers
