Re: Wollongong Model Show
There's going to be a heap of us at the drags mate, we need to co-ordinate our tickets so we all end up together. An unofficial day trip for AMCC forum members! Is there anything near the strip to do incase the weather turns bad? Bowling,Go karts?

There is go karts next door at Eastern Creek raceway.
As far as tickets, it's just general admission and you can sit wherever you like. Personally I like to be just in front of the Christmas tree.

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Whenever we've been to WSID our tickets have always had sections and seat numbers marked on them. We use to get gold area seating which was just past the tree at about the 30 foot mark. Have they changed the seating system? Been awhile since I was there.

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Guy,s , I used to live at WSID a few years ago (most meetings) , but have limited to only a few meetings each year now as have too much other stuff happening . Initially I was thinking of going to the Nitro,s on Friday(day off work) and Saturday then nick down to Illawarra Show on Sunday --forfiet the Drags for model show-- that was the plan ?????

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Guys, I hope this does not affect the nitro's or drag racing itself in NSW but on the dragster forum we have all been told to read an article in the sun herald tomorrow.
There seems to be a lot going on and it is not good, but I will be there at the nitro's I would of like my car to be but it is not ready so I will be a spectator.
Cheers Tony.

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Tomy, I don't like what you have heard; any idea. Just had a look around at a couple of forums, didn't see anything yet. It looks as though I might only get to the Nitros on Saturday . Checkmate is staying at my place, so far .
As for the rest , when I get to the Wizard I'll have get one of the officials there to help Rob and I look at , I mean, look for a bunch of Coits

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Ron there has been a lot going on for a while, some maybe rumour but there maybe will be an investigation but as I said grab the sun herald tomorrow and you will find out a lot more and on dragster.com.au that is all we have been told mate.
There are a lot of unhappy drag racer's out there at the moment and those been the group 2,3 and 4 racers and entries are down as well at this year's nitro's.
Cheers Tony.

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Tony ,I know there has been a substantial increase in racer fees and they have been slugged again for so called oil and general cleanup . Some racers wouldn't be happy about that , but if something is exposed in mainstream newspaper, it would be a bigger story than a number of frustrated racers . On WSID website ,there are two divisions of spectator prices , so the gold seating look s like its in place for the Nitro weekend.
Cheers Ron

Re: Wollongong Model Show
Ron it's not just WSID or SD as they like to call it now but the grass root's racer is fed up with the way ANDRA is treating them as well but I won't get into it on here.
Mate I will be taking my own chair and food as usual as my seat is a lot more comfortable and I will be sitting in the grass erea those bloody plastic seats get a bit rough after a while.
Cheers Tony.
