68 El Camino
Had this kit in the stash for a loonnnnnnngggg time, actually painted it probably 10 years ago but that's as far as it went.
Wanted to do something different to take to the Mackay show so pulled this out. It has been stripped, smoothed and repainted in a custon mix Orange acrylic lacquer (with a bit of Gold pearl). A flat firewall was added, door handles and side markers removed along with the vinyl roof trim.
The bottom of the cabin floor and the chassis were also smoothed and cleared with 2 pac. Chassis and all suspension is painted metalic silver.
Next was the interior, wasn't happy with the stock door cards so made my own custom ones using .5 sheet styrene. Colour is Mr Hobby semi gloss "Radome" Black flocking on the floor.
As the big block has long since dissapeared, I'm not sure what motor I will be using, thinking of a 2000 model Corvette motor with the aid of a centrifugal blower on it, maybe. Wheels are Pegasus Vantage 23", might have a bit of fun getting it as low as I want with these big suckers but only got a week to get it finished

Re: 68 El Camino
Tubman , Nice to see someone else has a "68 El Camino in the works Lookin pretty!! I'm doing a Pro Street version and I like your idea of removin the vynil roof . The other I'm doing has the complete roof removed and it will be like a Kustom Chevelle I saw in a Hot Rodding magazine some years ago. The colour combination on yours is a favourite of mine , I like it.

Re: 68 El Camino
F*ck yeah, only got zorsts and radiator hoses to do. Was toying up if i should put a brake booster in the engine bay as the overall theme is smoothed, relocated and hidden. At the moment the only things in the engine bay are, the engine and the radiator, nothing else, no visable wires or hoses, like a 1:1 show car would be, with hidden booster. Mmmm
Will get more pics up tomorrow.
Would have left it the original colour but it had real bad sink marks on each B pillar which I hadn't fixed so was never really happy with it but they are fixed now.
