"Sauerkraut" - Porsche 924
Bit of a change of pace on my bench, and I had to dig right to the back of the stash for this one. I have about a dozen Porsche kits in my stash so you could say I don't mind 'em and I've been toying with building this one for a while now but was stuck for wheels until recently getting these Fujimi Techno Racing rims...............so here's my attempt at an Audi powered liquid cooled 70's Porsche that was originally meant to be badged as a VW!!

I have one of these buried in the stash as well. You're right about the kit wheels, very under whelming.

I'll be watching this one too. I've never seen that kit before, it seems that Monogram went through a phase of really weird subjects like this that were out of place in it's line up of Americana.
Are you keeping it as a racer or making a tricked out Euro street beast?

They did make a bunch of cool things like this kit, whilst this one is a curbside from 1978 it's not a bad liitle thing and parts fitment is pretty good so far.
..........I think this one will be a fictitious race car, a Club Racer or similar - with the size of the slicks (about 15" rear and 12" fronts) that I've squeezed under it they would be wasted on the street

This ones still slowly progressing on my bench, I've painted the wheel centers gold (originally they where to be black) and made up a cage from various sources.................

Soon as I paint it I will get a better shot Allan, most of the cage is from a J2000 kit.

Re: "Sauerkraut" - Porsche 924
Bit more to report on this one, the interior is about half way there as it's painted and I've chosen some seats that will fit with my club racer type theme, I've added some checker plate to the foot wells, machined up a shifter and made the little aluminium sheet under it.

Re: "Sauerkraut" - Porsche 924
I got the treadplate from an aftermarket truck mob (@ kilmore IIRC), it's nickle plated brass sheet and very much to scale - it was pretty cheap too!!

Re: "Sauerkraut" - Porsche 924
I got sick of waiting for painting weather, so I've finally spashed some primer and paint on this one. It's still wet so instead I will just show you my inspiration for colours .....
